In Top 10 Social Media Experience Goals Checklist we laid out our foundations. Now it is time to put it together.

1. Rinse – Repeat

This time we start out with rinse out everything on our plate – and then we review the
Top 10 Social Media Experience Goals Checklist.

We want to create a clear picture of our goals.

2. Go to infinity and beyond.…

If you let your free mind flow you maybe got somewhere between 50 – 500 goals down that you want to accomplish. Have fun with this and open your mind to all the possibilities. Get on your game hat and start asking yourself some questions. Here are some questions you can ask;

What do I want to do?
What do I want to have?
Where do I want to go?
What contribution do I want to make?
What do I want to become?
What do I want to learn?
Who do I want to spend my time with?
How much to I want to earn, save and invest?
How much time do I want off for fun?
What will to create optimum health?

This has been one of the more important exercises I have done – and as you can see here I have touched several aspects. One of my weak spots has been proper time management. I started to focus on more direct time management with assigning a time frame to various assignments. But this did not work to well for me, and I ended up going off task to often. So when I learned to focus on other areas and then prioritize them it worked out much better for me.

Since I am a extreme Libra I knew I needed some balance to make it work for me.

3. Picture It

Take a tour to your local book store and then stop the children’s books. And browse through a couple of them, and observe how these books present their information. In most of these books you will see a lot of illustrative pictures. This is how kids learn and understand.

You should start do the same for your business goals – start create a picture scrap book. I use a combination of drawings and pictures. Be creative – don’t over think this. Just be like child like.

4. Idea Book

Always carry some kind of device with you where you can jot down your ideas when they pop-up. I am a huge fan of Evernote. The reason I like this tool so much is that I sync it with my iPhone. And I can use my iPhone to either record or type my ideas when I am out on the road. Often when I am out driving I listen to some audio book, and then an idea strikes me. Then I record my idea through evernote, and get back to it when I get home.

Many also use a simple notebook. Use what works best for you.

5. Visualization

I have to admit this was probably one of the most tricky parts to learn and understand. But it is really powerful when you get it.

In sports this technique is used very often. This is about taking Picture It and Idea Book one step further. Now you are going to visualize your goals and ideas in action, and that it actually is happening to you. Use your positive imagination to create these awesome pictures.

Visualize yourself taking all the action needed to achieve your goal – visualize how you have got through all the hurdles and adversities on your way – visualize how the end result will make you feel.

6. Mentors – Master Minds

First time I heard or read about Master Minds was when I read Napoleon Hill’s book ‘Think And Grow Rich’.

In the beginning I did not really understood this. But this principle is all about finding some experience in the areas where you need most help. Then your learning curve will start increase rapidly.

Most of the these groups consist of 4 – 6 people.

Categorize your goals

a. Personal
b. Relationship
c. Fun time
d. Health/Fitness
e. Contributions
f. Business/Career
g. Financial

NOTE: Remember this is a process – and consistency is what determine how far you will come.

Disclosure

Make sure you take time to read my Disclosure since one of the things I will focus on this year is providing opportunity and new income streams.

Social media marketing is a recent component of organizations’ integrated marketing communications plans. Integrated marketing communications is a principle organizations follow to connect with their targeted markets. Integrated marketing communications coordinates the elements of the promotional mix—advertising, personal selling, public relations, publicity, direct marketing, and sales promotion—to produce a customer focused message. In the traditional marketing communications model, the content, frequency, timing, and medium of communications by the organization is in collaboration with an external agent, i.e. advertising agencies, marketing research firms, and public relations firms.

Credit: Wikipedia

This definition is a bit traditional and must be written by a marketer.

Social Media involves a natural, genuine conversation between people about something of mutual interest, a conversation built on the thoughts and experiences of the participants.

Social Media Marketing In New Clothing

In my previous article I told you to Skip The Plan, well now I will tell you to skip traditional marketing thinking.

What Social Media Marketing really is;

Building relationships

Listening

Participation

You, Me and Everybody = Us

Story telling

Word of mouth

Passion

Sharing your networks info

Let your customer be in the driver seat

Customer Experience

Feedback

Being yourself

Rinse, Repeat

Gary Vaynerchuk really gets this. For a mellow Libra like me this guy is just extremely bubbly. But o’boy I love him. And plus his book Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion is just a must have. Gary cuzz and go way over board on his shows, but his fans loves him all the way to the bank. But that is because he has understood what Social Media Marketing really is.

Build your toolboxes

I have also taken some traditional marketing classes where our teacher was teaching us on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Nothing wrong with learning about Maslow’s. But with Social Media we can no longer think traditional marketing. Facebook alone has over 300 million! users, and some of the applications there is used by millions of users. This phenomena is not caused by traditional marketing. Is is caused by products that appeals to the points listed above.

I will estimate that today between me and my wife about 50% of new product we purchase, we purchase online. Our behavior has changed dramatic the last couple of years. This due that many businesses understand how Social Media works. Most of my Comcast support I get online through Social Media. And their service is outstanding. This again creates the ultimate Social Media Experience.

And the cool thing is that several of the books on Social Media Marketing, or marketing related to a specific Social Network has catched on to these points.

The secret key lays in developing toolboxes that covers the principles of Social Media Marketing. Because that is a task we all can do. You know how to build relationships, listen, participate, tell a story, be yourself etc..

And then you will do as Gary Vaynerchuk says – just freakin Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion..

Social Media Marketing books that inspire me
