How To Promote Your Blog In 140 characters or less

Twitter is a great Social Media channel for communication in real time, and finding new cool stuff.

We have seen how we can build a good relationship on Twitter; how we can build trust; and our products life cycle.

Tweet Promotion

You have a blog or website that you want to promote your information and product from. The main reason many of us start a blog or website is because we want to make money with it. Nothing wrong with that. We have gone through some of the steps that has got us this far. So why not bring it up a notch.

You want to start promote your blog or website from your tweets.

But the trick is that you don’t want to come off as spammer.. do you?

a) Curiosity

So we want to use Twitter to create curiosity for your blog or website.

Your first tweet is your Curiosity Tweet.

You already know your information or product. In your first tweet tell that you are looking into trying out the info, or even that you want to buy it.

Curiosity Tweet:

“Have a new Twitter Coaching Product that I tried out. Great Stuff!”

Be creative when you create curiosity. If your friends start respond to you then you know you are on the right track. And if you get few responses, try out a couple of more Curiosity Tweets.

b) Attention

You have now made your friends curios. Now you want to grab their attention with give some more details that is related to your information or product. Give some simple details that describe one benefit of the information or product.

Attention Tweet:

“The first module of the Twitter Coaching Product has blown me away. Can’t wait to get on to second module!”

c) Benefit

Digg even deeper into some of the benefits of the information or product. You have got your friends attention now, so give them more detailed benefits of your information of your product or information.

Benefit Tweet:

“I have discovered a bunch of new creative Twitter Strategies that made the Twitter Coaching Product even better..”

d) Action

You finish up with your Action Tweet. Now you can present your friends and followers with a link to your blog or website where you give a more detailed description that is related to your tweets. I recommend using a short urls service that provide some statistics for your blog or website link. This way you can track how your promotion campaign turned out. And make necessary changes.

Action Tweet:

“Get in for your sneak peak of The Twitter Coaching Product Today! – http://bit.ly/twitterprod”

You have now created a simple Twitter teaser campaign for your blog or website.

If you are using other techniques that works… then feel free to share them with me here..

  • Don't we just love twitter. ^^ Great line up! Kind of reminding me the importance of 'headlines', simple and enough to make an impact - even with just 140 characters! A good guide I'll say. Hey, I just realized you changed to Headway themes, nice choice!

  • Thanks Ching Ya.

Been busy here traveling the last couple of weeks. I love traveling, so when my traveling bug hits me I am out on the road.. tehe..

Yeah I changed to Headway. Was not unhappy with my previous theme. Just wanted to get a professional theme. And Headway Rocks! Plus the support there is just awesome. I am very very happy with my choice.

Have a couple of things I am working on here. But still out traveling this week, and a little next week.

    Take care..

    Cheers.. Are

Hey hi there...dropping by from AB Forum.

Well, I did look into promoting my blog on Twitter and made an account just for that, but I never seemed to get the hang of it. Will try again soon enough after reading this.

    Thanks for sharing mayte.
  • Thanks for your comment.

Most of the traffic to my blog I get from Twitter and other Social Media channels. Even though I focus on Twitter here you can also adapt these techniques to other Social Media channels.

Many of my blogger friends use Social Media channels like Facebook or LinkedIn. Define your market and see which strategy works best for your market.

And then if your strategy don't work with Twitter like in your case, then start change some of the basic elements in your strategy.

I think the best lesson I have learned is to think outside the box. And I don't listen to much to 'nay' sayer's.

Adversities is something we all will phase at one stage or another in our process of working become in better blogger.

I am glad this article helped you with getting new ideas for how to use Twitter to promote your blog.

    Cheers.. Are
