Social Media Bloggers To Watch

Darren Rowse at Problogger gave us a task to write our ‘Bloggers To Watch’ article. Social Media has given info-sharing a new dimension. Never before have we been able to exchange high quality information like we do now. And in 2010 new doors will be opened, so be prepared.

I follow a variety of different bloggers that provide value on several different areas. This reflect the way I built my Social Media Strategy for 2010. My strategy is built on a house that is supported by several pillars.

The bloggers I have chosen provide great value within the pillars that I have set for my house.

1. John Haydon advises non-profits and small businesses how to implement inbound marketing strategies with the social web. He is one great mentor and coach helping you to optimize your blog.
2. Deborah Cole Micek or Coach Deb as most of us know her as. She is co-author of one of my favorite books on Twitter – “Twitter Revolution”. If you want to grow your Social Media business to the next level she will provide the info you are looking for.
3. Michael Stelzner is the founder of Social Media Examiner. Here you will get one of the best guides through the Social Media Jungle.
4. Mari Smith is the go-to person for Facebook. I once called her Mari ‘In The Box’. Because every time she puts on an article she pops up and surprise you with her quality insight. Do not miss her info.
5. John Chow is the master of monetizing blogs. If you want to learn more about what kind of work it require to make money from your blog, then check out his blog.
6. Ted Murphy is the founder and CEO of IZEA. I had the opportunity to be at IzeaFest in 2009. And this guy is the Social Media’s answer to the Duracell Bunny.
7. Rebecca Leaman has found the key between Social Media and non-profit organizations. And she also is one of the moderators at Authority Blogger Forum.
8. Cindy King is truly an expert on cross-cultural marketing and international social media networking. And she is also the managing editor of Social Media Examiner.

10. Darren Rowse is a pro-blogger that blogs about blogging. Plus he provide a great Twitter tips blog at TwiTip. He information is just a must if you are serious about become more then just a ‘wanna-be’ blogger.
11. Brian Clark provide some of the best information on content strategies and copywriting skills. I had the pleasure to meet Brian at Izeafest. He also provide great insight on Social Media networking.
12. Chris Brogan advises businesses, organizations, and individuals on how to use social media and social networks to build relationships and deliver value. If you never have experienced Chris when he speaks I highly recommend it. Just be prepared to burn out your pen.. because he deliver value in almost every word that comes out. Chris is also author of the book ‘Trust Agents’.
13. Nathan Hangen is really one of the up and coming bloggers. And he provide great value both on Twitter and blogging. Nathan has built himself a great reputation through several guest post. I really admire Nathan for some of the great things he have been able to achieve true his determination.
14. David Risley is a professional blogger that in my opinion has some of the best blogging training on the net. And David is really blunt with you and tells it as it is. He don’t sugar coat it.

  • Awesome list here! I've been following a few of these people over the past few months yet you've helped me become aware of even more people to look out for! Thanks for the update, I look forward to getting to know more of these bloggers on a more personal level to hopefully help me grow my blog!

I'm curious as to why you chose 16?
  • Thanks Chris.

There is no particular reason for chose 16. I wanted to provide a list with a variety of bloggers that I have found offer great value in several aspects within Social Media. Some of these bloggers has been around for a while, and some are fairly new.

These bloggers has thought me some valuable lessons that brought me and my blog to where it is today. And I believe in giving, and all of these bloggers has given me a lot that I can be grateful for. So it was natural for me to recognize them.

Yes there are other bloggers out there that provide great value either it is regarding Social Media or other topics. There are several that I monitor for various reasons, and I might do a revised list at another time.

One of the things I really want to do is to provide something similar for local bloggers. I like the idea of build a community around local bloggers and profile them and their service. And here I have not narrowed it down to Social Media only. It's one of the projects I have on my Social Media Plan.

I'll take time to check out if you have a blog.

    Wish you all the best.

    Your friend,

  • Are, that's a great idea for bringing together the local bloggers. I should start doing that in the Buffalo, NY area! It reminds me of the "Tribes" concept from Seth Godin and it's a great way to stand out as a leader, which you are clearly doing!

The reason why I was curious about the 16 is just because 15 is my lucky number, but the number 16 definitely increased my curiosity! (great blogging strategy that i'm going to need to implement!)

Would you be providing a sort of Social Media training for local bloggers? That might be a great way to meet up with the community, help them build their business and create some great offline relationships! Man, I'm learning quite a bit in the first time I've been on your blog! You definitely have a follower in me from now on!

oh, and my blog is http://WhosChrisHughes.com :)

Hi, I've not seen a number of these blogs before so I'll definitely be checking them out. I particularly like your strategy map. Great idea.
  • Thanks for your kind comments Matthew.

Some of these are already profiled bloggers. I have taken several courses from a couple of them. Got books and pdf's they have launched. Plus I have meet some of them in person.

The information I have got from them has been really great and helpful.

I'm glad you liked my strategy map. This was a simplified version. I might put out a more 'advanced' version.

    Wish you all the best.

    Cheers.. Are
  • You are a sweet person, Are. Thanks so much for sharing the list and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet some of them over the past year. It's flattering enough to see my name enlisted although I'm still far from being qualified with other 15 talented individuals. I see this as a huge encouragement and thank you so much for this recognition. I hope to work harder and hopefully we could all excel and achieve our goals in 2010!

    Thanks again my friend.

  • You are welcome Ching Ya. Never underestimate yourself.

You have some great qualities that a lot of bloggers can learn from. I have always been a firm believer in info-sharing. 2010 I believe will be a year where we will bring info-sharing to a different level.

In my eyes great bloggers know how to prepare and adapt to changes. And I think you have prepared yourself and your blog very well.

I also had the opportunity to meet some of the bloggers I mentioned here. And networking on Social Media events is something I look forward to doing more of in 2010. Of course I hope I get the opportunity to meet you at one Social Media Event.

And I agree with working harder and I know then we will excel and achieve our goals in 2010.

    Cheers.. Are
